Discoveries in Paris III

If you love stunning architecture, you'll love this 'discovery'.  I only discovered this museum at the Trocadero earlier this year.
It's the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine.....an absolute treasure-trove of French architectural styles from 12th to 18th centuries....and also more modern styles of French architecture to the present day.

Expect to see life-size plaster casts of those wonderful Gothic carvings from the cathedrals in Reims and Chartres....and much more.  The museum also has a café with wonderful views of the Eiffel Tower....another good reason to visit.
I loved these models of Paris...pre and post Haussmann.
It's a great way to see exactly what the Baron did
when he 'modernised' Paris.
Fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower...inside and out.

And just outside the museum you'll see those glittering gold statues at the Trocadero...so many good reasons to visit Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine.

A bientot.

  1. Hello:
Yes, this looks to be exactly our kind of place. A wonderful collection of architectural pieces and all gathered in one place. What a perfect way to compare and contrast the differing styles and fashions over the centuries. A must next time we are in Paris, for certain!
